Hello Everyone!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as we all dive into this course...so, hi - my name is Emily! I am in my final year of my undergrad at Lakehead - just finishing up some credits before I start my Bachelor of Education in the fall. Currently, I am an Educational Assistant with the Simcoe County District School Board. I've always dreamed of being a teacher, so I can't wait to start the program. Maybe I'll see some of you there!

Some things I enjoy doing in my free time: really anything outside! I love biking, walking, kayaking, ATV'ing, hiking, boating, wake surfing, camping all that stuff! Our 5 year old Golden Doodle, Molly, loves to join us on these adventures too. See below for some pictures of all our adventures.

I'm also francophone - meaning, I speak French! I am trying to keep my fluency up as I don't speak it as much anymore. I currently attend conversation groups at an organization in Simcoe County called La Clé. I really enjoy using my second language. If there are any other bilingual students here, feel free to comment below in French and maybe we can connect!

I am looking forward to collaborating with you all this summer.

Hello friends! For anyone who read my last blog post , I am back from my adventure in Nova Scotia! I just got back on Saturday (August 6th), but I'm already reminiscing about all of the fun things that we did. We had a great time visiting family, but we also made some amazing memories exploring our own beautiful country. Gosh, there is so much to see.  One of the highlights from our Eastern trip, aside from seeing the Cabot Trail and doing the Skyline Trail, of course, was visiting the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site . Frustrated Air Canada Passengers Lose Their Patience Amid Unprecedented Airline Crisis

By now, it is no secret that the popular airline Air Canada is having some serious issues. Due to unprecedented circumstances, the company has had to cancel or delay thousands of flights, leaving a great deal of people stranded in airports across the country. Baggage is being lost with unclear times of retrieval, and needless to say people are losing their patience and are beginning to fight back.  Many people have reached out via social media to voice their concerns in hopes that something will be done about these absurd conditions as getting in contact with the company is becoming increasingly difficult.  Many people have begun speaking out, and below are just samples of what people are saying.
